I have been informed that this poem is a semifinalist

in the International Open Poetry contest. It will be

freatured in the Winter 2006 Immortal Verses. I hope this is

true although I don't buy into poetry books you purchase. But

because of the message i would like to put out I hope it is so.

DO IT TODAY

Isn't it sad that saying, "I Love You!", is hard to say;

We who can proclaim our hate in many a way.

I knew Mom loved me, and she knew I loved her.

In our family we seldom said the words for sure;

It was just not words used around our house.

I use the words openly, my wife, my spouse.

But a Mother's love isn't it always assumed?

She was my soul, for this world I was groomed.

Then one day the Doctor called me and said,

"Your Mom has terminal Cancer, soon will be dead."

Night and day in her room we shared the gloom,

One day she said to me, "Danny, God is in the room!"

I cried out loud, "But Mom I love you so!"

And she whispered, "I love you too but my turn to go!"

One time I was able to proclaim my love,

For she was taken with the Angels far above.

So I have advice to you who might now listen,

Share your love, "TODAY", not when your love is missen.
