SALMON RETURNING TO SPAWN

Trees dropping leaves in red-orange purple foliage

Mountain rains returning flowing white foaming streams

Flowers, dropping ,fading away to await springs blue skies

Tiny skeeter skates bubbling on top of grey rocks

Food for the trouts dinning spring they do await

But the real sign of winter's coming in the fall

Coho and King Salmon returning to spawn in Cottage Lake creek

Yesterdays cold hale early fall warning of approaching cold

A day mixed with double sunlit rainbow in multitude colors

Blowing by storm clouds a raining night of thunder

Announcing in trumpet the arrival to the creek of two Red Coho Salmon

Testing the waters for the arrival of King and Cohos annually spawning

Over at Pike Street Markets employees tossing out the old and celebrating the new

For one of God's miracles had come to the great Northwest waters

Mothers and fathers, tiny children, line the banks of streams and creeks

As leaves and nature peeks in multicolored beauty the splender

Once again welcoming home the Salmon and winters call

And this year more than ever coming Salmon to Cottage Lake creek
